However, since heating typically renders the protease enzymes in bromelain inactive, canned pineapple can be added to jello, as it is heated sufficiently as part of the canning process. Pineapple is particularly fibrous, so choking is a concern. The food components that yield the highest percentage of calories from carbohydrates are. table sugar, honey, jam, jelly, fruit, and plain baked potatoes. Pineapple contains a chemical called bromelain, which contains two enzymes capable of digesting proteins, called proteases. Jell-O and other gelatins get their structure from links formed between chains of collagen, which is a protein.

Foods That Can Make You Happy

A lot of us have been taught to believe that comfort foods are terrible and are to be avoided. Often, if your comfort food is essentially candy or other junk foods, this is true. Soemtimes, comfort foods can be perfectly healthy and good for us to eat. A number of foods really do improve your mood when you eat them. When you feel a little down and are needing an emotional pick-me-up, test out a couple of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, can be really wonderful at beating back depression. Just be sure that you don’t toss out the yolk. Every time you want to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most vital part of the egg. Eggs, the egg yolks in particular, are loaded with B vitamins. These B vitamins are terrific for helping to boost your mood. This is because they help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–run better. Try eating a couple of eggs to cheer up!

Put together a trail mixout of different seeds and nuts. Your mood can be raised by consuming peanuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. This is because seeds and nuts have a lot of magnesium which boosts your brain’s serotonin levels. Serotonin is the “feel good” natural substance that dictates to your brain how you feel all the time. The more of this chemical in your brain, the happier you’ll feel. Nuts, in addition to improving your mood, can be a great source of protein.

Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you wish to battle depression. Cold water fish such as tuna, trout and wild salmon are chock full of DHA and omega-3 fatty acids. DHA and omega-3s are two things that actually help the grey matter in your brain function a lot better. It’s true: eating a tuna fish sandwich can seriously boost your mood.

Some grains are really wonderful for driving away bad moods. Quinoa, millet, teff and barley are all actually excellent for helping boost your happiness levels. These foods fill you up better and that can help you with your moods too. Feeling famished can really bring you down! The reason these grains help your mood so much is that they are easy for your stomach to digest. You digest these foods more quickly than other foods which can help increase your blood sugar levels, which, in turn, helps make you feel better, mood wise.

Your mood could really be helped by green tea. You were sure green tea had to be included in this article, right? Green tea is loaded with an amino acid called L-theanine. Studies have found that this specific amino acid can basically induce brain waves. This helps improve your mental acuity while calming the rest of your body. You already knew that green tea helps you feel healthier. Now you know that green tea helps you to elevate your moods also!

Now you realize that junk food isn’t necessarily what you have to eat when you wish to help your moods get better. Try a few of these tips instead.
