Otherwise, comfort foods could be extremely nutritious and good for you. A number of foods honestly do boost your mood when you consume them. When you feel a little down and need an emotional boost, try a few of these.

Eggs, would you believe, are wonderful for helping you combat depression. Just make sure that you don’t toss out the yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that is the most important in terms of helping you cheer up. Eggs, the egg yolk especially, are rich in B vitamins. The B vitamin family can be great for elevating your mood. This is because they help improve the function of your neural transmitters, the components of your brain that control your mood. Try eating an egg and jolly up!

Put together a trail mixfrom different seeds and nuts. Your mood can be raised by consuming peanuts, almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. This is possible because these foods have a bunch of magnesium which raises serotonin production. Serotonin is a feel-good chemical substance that dictates to the brain how to feel at any given time. The more serotonin you have, the better you will feel. Not just that, nuts, specifically, are a fantastic protein source.

Cold water fish are excellent for eating if you are wanting to beat back depression. Salmon, herring, tuna, mackerel, trout, etcetera, they’re all loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and DHA. These are two things that raise the quality and the function of your brain’s grey matter. It’s the truth: eating tuna fish sandwiches can really help you fight your depression.

It’s not hard to fight your bad mood when you are eating grains. Teff, barley, millet, quinoa, etc are all good for helping you feel better. These grains can help you feel full for longer as well, which is a mood improver. Feeling starved can truly bring you down! The reason these grains are so good for your mood is that they are not hard to digest. They are simpler to digest than other foods which helps kick up your blood sugar levels and that, in turn, improves your mood.

Your mood could really be helped by green tea. You knew it had to be mentioned in this article, right? Green tea is rich in an amino acid referred to as L-theanine. Studies have shown that this amino acid basically stimulates brain waves. This helps sharpen your mental energy while at the same time making the rest of your body more relaxed. You knew green tea could help you feel healthier. And now you are aware that it can help improve your mood as well!

Now you know that junk food isn’t necessarily what you have to eat when you are wanting to help your moods get better. Go with these hints instead!
